30 Then was Saul angry with Jonathan, and said unto him, Thou [a]son of the wicked rebellious woman, do not I know, that thou hast chosen the son of Jesse to thy confusion, and to the confusion and shame of thy mother?
31 For as long as the son of Jesse liveth upon the earth, thou shalt not be established, nor thy kingdom: wherefore now send and fet him unto me, for he [b]shall surely die.
32 And Jonathan answered unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Wherefore shall he [c]die? what hath he done?
